Call Of The Wild

The guys over at Fantagraphics have published another collection of Mickey Mouse daily comics - "Mickey Mouse: Call Of The Wild" (hardback; 280 pgs). This is the fifth volume in the series and the first one to feature the color Sunday strips.

The strips run from 1932 - 1935. We get introduced to Mickey's nephews, Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse. (Who know their last name was Fieldmouse.) While not quite as popular as Donald's nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Morty and Ferdie's antics make Bart Simpson look like a saint. Also, during this early era, Goofy is still referred to as Dippy.

A fantastic series. If you haven't already picked them up, jump on board before it's too late.
