One Thousand

Nope, not my one thousandth post, but rather my one thousandth Disneyland postcard. I was putting away my latest batch of postcards yesterday and decided to count my collection. And to my surprise I'd crossed over into the 1000s.

I would never have thought that when I started collecting postcards on July 30, 1998 (that's the day I registered with eBay) that I'd have this many cards.

I don't think I have as many cards as my buddy, Mike, though.

Actually, you have me beat! Last I counted, I had 960+ postcards, and if I counted my most recent, i probably have about 975? at most, I'd say.

that's not counting my 100 Mickeys postcard book, but you're not counting postcards within books, are you?

Well, you know I also collect variations of cards, which accounts for approx. 20% of the collection. So, you've probably got me beat on unique views.

I also didn't count any cards that were part of a group - whether it was a folder, tear-away folder, or individual cards sold in a pack.

1000 postcards, yikes! I thought I had a lot. But I probably "only" have a few hundred. I started over 10 years ago and managed to get some very rare cards for relatively cheap. Got all the old panoramas, all the "squeakers", and I think I have all of the Art Corner cards (not counting variations). I'll have to start posting some of the rarer ones on my bloggy blog.

I'm the webmaster for the newly created DisneyPostcards.net and have approximately 2000+ postcards, but then again I collect all the variations as well; you know, with clouds and without; green dress, yellow dress, etc.

Correction; it's DisneylandPostcards.net not DisneyPostcards.net. Sorry for the typo.

Cyberdillo,
I'm very impressed. That's a lot of work including thumbnails and full size scans of front and back AND variations.

Very well done!
